Firemin is an application to deal with memory leaks or consuming too many computer/laptop memory resources when using the Mozilla Firefox Browser. The negative effect of consuming very large memory is that it can slow down computer performance, and Firefox will not automatically release it even if the page is closed. That's why an additional software needs to be used to free and optimize the RAM used by Firefox. One of them is Firemin who can tame this fire fox.
In every Firefox release, they claim to have a better optimized memory system than before but the reality is different. Sometimes Firefox works fine but after a while the problem appears again even in normal browsing.
If you use the hibernate option on your system then the problem will be more complicated. I have faced this problem during hibernation. Internet lovers may already know that firefox requires quite a lot of memory resources, by opening multiple tabs on firefox will require about 200 to 300 MB of memory and this causes the computer to crash / hang.
The only problem experienced by mozilla firefox is a memory leak where sometimes its use takes up a lot of RAM memory, causing the computer to be slow and blank. Even though every update to the latest version they always claim that they have solved this problem, but the fact is that until now Firefox users are still experiencing memory leaks.
The app uses a secure API function called EmptyWorkingSet which basically forces the process (in this case Firemin ) to use as little memory as possible. In other words, telling Firefox to retain some of the system memory.
By installing Firemin on your computer and running it while using Firefox, Firefox's memory usage can be reduced by up to 95%. From what usually ranges from 400 MB to only 3-15 MB.
