The Epson ET-M1120 does one thing and one thing well, namely printing paper. Any student or home worker who needs to print out OK paper worth a small forest every year will appreciate the low running costs, but the Epson ET-M1120 is not for everyone.
In addition to letting you queue print jobs from your Windows or Mac desktop or laptop computer via USB, you can also connect to the ET-M1120 using Wi-Fi and print paper from iOS and Android phones with the Epson iPrint app.
The Epson ET-M1120 is a squat light gray and black cube, measuring 161 x 375 x 267mm and measuring 3.5 kg. It is relatively easy to carry as well as a space-friendly desk like a home office printer. There is only one USB port, which is in the gap on the left side of the printer, above the outlet for the key adapter. Setting it up is relatively easy, as it's basically a plug 'n play event.
Paper (up to 150 A4 sheets) is packed on the front, under the output tray. Flexible plastic strips and adjustable clamps help you line everything up. After that, all you need to do is install the appropriate Windows and Mac drivers and the Epson iPrint mobile app.
The latter requires connecting the Epson ET-M1120 to your home wireless network, which can be done by pairing with your router by pressing the WPS and Wi-Fi buttons on your router and even the printer.
Once done, the Epson iPrint app will definitely find the Epson ET-M112 when you connect to your home Wi-Fi network. On a monochrome printer, the mobile app repeats itself, as any selfie or photo you send to the printer will appear colorless.
The file scanning feature may be useful in some cases, such as the ability to publish files from the cloud (Google Drive, Box, Evernote, OneDrive, and Dropbox are supported), but oftentimes, you may be providing a print command from a desktop computer tool.
It's pretty fast too. Publishing a 5-page paper takes about 30 seconds (10ppm), while printing a 20-page note takes about 2 minutes 20 seconds (8.5 ppm). That's a stark contrast to the rugged multipurpose printers of a few years earlier, such as Epson's Labor force WF-7110DTW.
For the price per page, the price of an empty bottle of ink in an Epson 111 type bottle remains in the order of 10-₤ 15 at the time of manufacture, and can often be obtained for less in bargain bulk purchases. Each refill promises you 6000 web pages. Whatever it costs you for your container, it's a significant return, leading to a greatly reduced cost per page of around 0.2p. cartridge.
