How to Overcome a Not Responding Printer – hello again, erzedka.com friends, this time our team will share a brief review of how to deal with a printer that suddenly isn't detected or not visible on the computer even though the printer is on + connected. If the printer stops responding when you are printing something, then a “Not Responding” error message will appear on the computer screen.

In principle there are several things that can cause this error, such as an incorrect usb port connection, an unresponsive spooler, or a corrupted driver file. If your printer is suddenly not responding or not responding, please follow the steps below to resolve it.

Options How to overcome the printer Not Responding

How to solve and Cause Printer Not Responding

1. Check the connection between the printer and the computer

The first way you can do if the printer doesn't respond is by checking the connection between the printer and the computer, making sure the connection between the printer and computer is fine.

If you are using a physical connection such as a USB cable, make sure there are no loose or loose printer cables. If you use a wireless connection or a Wifi printer, please turn off the printer, computer, and Wifi modem first, leave the printer turned off for a while before turning it back on.

After that, please, my friend, open the document to be printed, then type print in the available menu, if the printer successfully prints the document, it means that the problem of the printer not responding has been successfully resolved. However, if the Not Responding message still appears on the computer/laptop screen, please follow the 2nd method below.

2. Restart Printer Spooler Service

Follow the steps below to restart the printer spooler service which is responsible for managing print jobs in Windows.

1. First, make sure you are running the computer as Administrator. If you use the computer as a Guest or Guest account, please restart the computer and log in to the computer with an Administrator account.

2. Second and next you have to press and hold the Windows + R key combination at the same time, type "services.msc" in the dialog box, then please press Enter.

services.msc

3. In the next window, search for and find Print Spooler from the Windows list of Services or “Services” in the column to the right. Double click on the Print Spooler service to open it.

4. In the Print Spooler Properties dialog box that appears, click Stop under the Service status option, then press Start, and then press OK to restart the spooler.

5. At this stage the Not Responding message will disappear by itself, and the printer can be used as usual. But if the printer is still Not Responding, please follow the 3rd method below.

3. Reinstall Printer Driver & Remove Printer

Printer Not Responding can also be caused because the driver file is corrupt or damaged due to a virus attack or there is a driver file that was accidentally deleted.

To remove a printer from your computer, first, please click windows on the left on the computer taskbar, after the window opens click on "Devices and Printers", here you can see the active printers on your computer. After finding the printer to be deleted, please right-click on the printer image, then scroll down and select the “Remove Device” option.

  1. After the printer is deleted, the computer automatically no longer recognizes the printer. Therefore, my friend needs to add the printer to the list of active devices on the computer, by installing the driver.
  2. The trick, please, buddy, download the printer driver on the official website according to the printer brand that you are using.
  3. After successfully downloading, install it immediately and follow the instructions on the screen until the printer is successfully installed and the computer has detected the presence of the printer.
  4. To find out whether the printer driver has been installed or not, please look for it in the Drivers and Printers section as described above.

At this stage the printer should be able to be used normally, but if after going through the steps as described above, the printer still displays the message "NOT RESPONDING", then it would not hurt to take the printer to the nearest printer service center to find out more whether what is the real problem and how to solve this printer not responding continuously
