Cisco Packet Tracer is a simulator application used to design computer network topologies created by Cisco Networking. Cisco Systems Inc. is a world-renowned information technology company that publishes an international certification in the field of computer networking CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
The company was founded in 1984 by Leonard Bosack and Sandy K Lerner. The CCNA certificate is usually used to prove that someone has expertise in the field of computer network technology with the ability to configure, install devices and troubleshoot the infrastructure of a computer network.
This certification is usually required if we want to apply for a job in an office or company in the IT department. For now, the Cisco Packet Tracer application can be used for various operating system devices such as Windows, macOS and Linux.
This software is created by Cisco and is provided free of charge to faculty, students and alumni who have participated in the Cisco Networking Academy.
The main purpose of Packet Tracer is to provide a simulator for students and teachers to understand the concepts and principles of computer networks and also develop knowledge in the field of networking using Cisco devices.
The development of computer networks today is so fast, monitoring computer networks will become a complex and complicated matter. Computer network connection is a fundamental thing in a network topology, because if the connection is problematic then all types of applications and websites that run through a computer network cannot be used.
Cisco packet tracer can be used for simulations that reflect the architecture and model of the computer network on the network system used. By using the Cisco packet tracer application, network simulations can be used as information about the state of computer connections in a network so that we can easily do troubleshooting if a problem occurs.

Packet Tracer can be used to easily create network simulations by dragging routers, switches, PCs and various other types of network devices. A physical connection between devices can be connected with a cross or straight cable. Packet Tracer supports basic routing simulations such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BDP and Border Gateway Protocol.
