Samsung is reported to have a new program that will significantly reduce repair costs for users who will repair their Galaxy phones.
According to a report from Business Korea, Samsung is considering introducing certified recycled parts for cell phone repair.
These spare parts are parts made from recycled materials such as scrap plastic, metal and more. This concept will be launched in the next few months especially in the first half of this year.
Launching from Android Authority, the report shows that by using recycled spare parts, Samsung can provide its users with lower repair costs.
Although using recycled materials, Samsung says the quality obtained will be the same as new parts. It is not stated which parts of the smartphone will be available in the program and how much it will cost.
Samsung has been promoting sustainable manufacturing for a while now. The Galaxy S22 series is one of the latest examples of its efforts, where the smartphone uses a new material made from used fishing nets.
Over the years, Samsung has also significantly reduced the amount of plastic and paper in its packaging. Recycled repair parts appear to be a logical extension of Samsung's sustainability efforts.
