Elon Musk as the owner of Twitter some time ago said that Twitter users who want to maintain the blue tick (Blue Verified) must subscribe every month, has now begun to be implemented for iOS users, Sunday (06/11).
Today, the Twitter app on iOS got their latest update which at the same time sets the rules for account subscription fees with a blue tick. For those who want to keep the blue tick on Twitter, they have to pay a monthly subscription fee.
Elon Musk himself said that to maintain this blue tick, users must at least subscribe for $7.99 USD or the equivalent of IDR 124,000.00 per month.
When finished updating the application, Twitter will provide a notification regarding payment for those who already have a blue tick. Celebrities, companies and political figures will also get this notification.
Even so, it turns out that not all iOS users get this information and because this is a trial only. Twitter will continue to update and force users to gain access to these payments.
Through Esther Crawford as Twitter Product Manager said that they have not decided to release this update evenly, because it is still in the trial process adjusted for time in a number of countries.
Alex Heath shared a screenshot of a Twitter notification for his account, which requires immediate payment to maintain the account with the blue tick.
The update that is coming to iOS also provides information that to get this blue tick verification, users will start paying a subscription fee of $7.99 USD per month. This is clearly stated in the App Store in the description of the Twitter update.
This also applies not only to political figures, companies or celebrities. Other general Twitter users can also get access to the blue tick by subscribing, but when they decide not to continue with the subscription, this check will disappear.
As of now, we don't have any updates on when Twitter will release this feature globally on iOS and Android. Musk has given developers until Monday, possibly starting on November 7th or before November 10th at the latest.
Musk himself stated that developers need to work faster, or if they can't complete Twitter's payment features, they're likely to be fired.
