45 ppm (pages per minute) was recorded as the Epson DS-770 score in processing single-sided documents, while 90 ipm (images per minute) was the score it achieved for scanning two-sided documents. The image referred to in ipm refers to each page on both sides of a document.
The most impressive speed score is when the Epson DS-770 is used to scan two-sided documents which are then saved as searchable PDFs. The score is roughly the same as the score achieved in the two-sided scan scenario saved as an image-based PDF, which is about 35 seconds for 25 documents.
The performance of the Epson DS-770 scanner in handling documents as a whole is also influenced by the connectivity factor in the form of USB 3.0. Unfortunately, its capable performance is not matched by network connectivity unless you are willing to bear the extra expense of buying the device which is sold separately.
