For various reasons, this super basic media player cannot compete with its various competitors. Basically, CDmax just reads your compact disc; unlike other media players, it will not work with files reminiscent of MP3, WAV or WMA.
The bland interface is not interesting at all, although at least you can perform normal functions by right-clicking the system tray icon. Options include only the obvious bare minimum, like repeat and shuffle modes, alarm clock, and sleep off.
Don't expect sophisticated things like visualizations, equalizers, or CD rippers, though.CDmax will retrieve track information for most users, but its performance is at least disappointing.
In many tests, the program only battled music in the left ear, a curious problem that is also a pretty much a dealbreaker.
