ICQ is the first messenger service application that has ever existed in the world as well as being a pioneer in other messenger services such as Yahoo Messenger to BBM Blackberry Messenger.
ICQ is a software system for instant messaging developed in 1996 at a small company called Mirabilis. it is an application of two people who are already registered on the internet to interact directly (like two people being connected) or without a connection (like email). Any internet user can download it and install the client program for free.
With Instant Messenger you can video/audio chat, send email, SMS and messages via wireless devices, and transfer files and URLs.
When you see your friends are online, you can click on their nickname and select Message, ICQ Chat, File and other options. If in Advanced mode, the sub-menu is more varied compared to Simple mode.
- Click ICQ Chat to invite them to communicate.
- Click Message if you want to write message to them via ICQ server
- Click File to send the file to them.
You can communicate with more than 1 nickname at a time. If they are offline, then you can still use Messages. Messages will be delivered by the main server automatically if they are then online with its ICQ.
